Is this normal?

Okay so I had my second fill yesterday my first fill I didn't feel anything really. So all of this is new.. I am now at 3.5ccs. So... I did the 24 hours of liquids like they wanted me to. I had a yogurt and ceral(dry) this morning, all was good. For dinner I made a hamburger and some fries. Well I tried eating a fry and almost died. It was immediately stuck. I stopped...I let it clear down, felt it unlodge and what not. (Not my first stuck episode.) So I thought I hadn't chewed enough. I then ate a few pieces of the hamburger, all was good, went down fine. I went back to the fries...made sure to chew and chew...stuck again.

So my question is...am I too tight? Or is it I'm just not going to be able to tolerate fries?

I would think that it is the french fries. I am suprised though that the dry cereal didn't bother you this morning and the french fries did tonight. But sometimes the band has a mind of its' own, you can eat one thing today but the same thing won't work tomorrow. I can maybe eat two or three french fries.

In my opinion if you can swallow meat fine and are not getting stuck on dense protein then you are good to go. You may still be a tad swollen from the fill. If you are concerned you could give your doctors office a call. My surgeon says that if you cough at night or have acid reflux you maybe to tight.

Naw I've not been feeling anything like acid reflux or anything like that. The reason I posted this here is I called my doctors office. The only one around was the receptionist and I told her and she immediately said I was too tight. I'm skeptical about that because if I was too tight then when could I eat the hamburger and other things?

She got all *****y and told me to call on Monday and speak with one of the nurses or the doctor.

I think it is still soon after the fill to judge........I need about 3 days to really get an idea if it is too tight or not........now of course if you ever can't ge****er down you are too tight.

However if you can get solid protein down (although my docs rules are liquids 24 hours, then mushies for another day then solids) I would say you are fine........ I can eat chips, cereal ect...but french fries or tater tots don't go down well especially if I have eaten my protein first. IMHO I don't think that french fries are a very good indicator, at least not for me.....

My fills never really went into effect until a few days later...

my initial thought is that no, you're not too tight...

BUT - I'd stop eating and take it easy for the rest of the day... maybe tomorrow too.

French fries ALWAYS get me.. but I love the damn things.. LOL

I find that I must cut fries into little pieces and eat them one by one...not just take a bite.

Fries are alot like bread, pasta and rice they all tend to turn gummy when chewed and get stuck nearly every time. Those are things I just learned I could not eat and they aren't that good for us anyway so no big loss.

I've not been able to eat fries since my surgery, even before my first fill.  White fries, anyway - i can eat sweet potato fries.  The sweet potatoes just aren't as starchy, and they break up better.
