pain relief

I'm a year out of surgery and was wondering. Can I take pain medication in pill form? Doctors office is closed.

If you had the lapband, yes you can take pills...but no bigger than a m&m. I break my bigger tablets in half and haven't had any problems. Some bandsters can't tolerate anything bigger than a birth control pill. What works for me is drinking a hot liquid first.

I have yet to figure out how to take my fill oil capsules. NO WAY am I going to break those in half..Yuck!!

5.0 cc in a 10cc lapband (four fills) 1 unfill of .5cc on 5/24/2011.
.5 fill March 2012. unfill of .25cc May 2012. Unfill of .5cc June 2014.

Still with my lapband with no plans for revision. Band working well since

last small unfill.

HW: 267lbs- size 22-24 LW:194lbs CW:198lbs Size 14-16

Thank You for replying. I am able to get my fish oil pills down. The doctor said it was alright to take them.

Is that because the fish oil capsules dissolve quickly? Guess thats what I'll ask my doc on my next visit.

I take my fish capsules in the evening when the band is more relaxed. I have no problems.

I don't take pills due to them not dissolving fast enough and irritating my stomach. I find it alot easier to just take liquid. You can get over the counter liquid Tylenol 500mg or children's it works great for me

I have never tried them, always chewed or did liquid meds.........taking no chances, heard too many stories...I remember Jean's ordeal..horrible.....

Thank you everyone. I checked out the thread. I had already taken two before I read it. So far so good.. I can't crush them because I had a tooth taken out today. I'll look for liquid tomorrow.
