Well, crap, I'm sorry... I called you Liz when I meant to call you by your NAME... LISA! Sorry about that! I had a DUH.

Thanks for this info. It is VERY useful and I appreciate it!

No problem.  I grew up with 3 sisters, I'm used to be called by the wrong name.. LOL.

Hope the inserts (sofsoles or some other brand) will help.

I actually have extremely high arches and high insteps. When I went to the new balance store they put me on a machine and analyzed my feet. My foot doctor told me the same things that they did that I need a shoe with cushion. Maybe the shoe you had was more for stability which we don't need as much of. The foot doctor told me that when those of us with high arches run, our entire foot never touches the ground and flatens out. Kind of stinks! I have the New Balance 940 running shoe and they put me in a wider width becasue they explained your foot needs room to move. Also when you are a runner you have to remember that you shouldn't wear cotton socks. I was recently informed of that. It causes friction and will cause blisters and infections on your feet. I origially went to get new shoes because I was having issues with blisters. I definitely needed new shoes because of wear and tear, but it was good to know about the sock thing.

I tried on Asics because they are supposed to be the best runners, but they were too tight and naroow for me. Glad you found a shoe that works!

And Steph, Holla for coupons!

You know what works really well for blister prevention? Flexitol Blistop spray. I use it whenever I work out.  And I find it really does work. It's kind of a layer of protection but doesn't feel 'glue-y.'

I have wide feet and really high arches.  I like New Balance, but i've started wearing Vibram FiveFingers when i go to the gym, and may never go back to sneakers.  They are awesome!
