I Just Have One Question................

Thank you Phil I really appreciate that and in return if I have ever made you feel that I was talking down to you then I apologize for doing that. I truly hate being talked down to.

It is no big deal.  And I am NOT pointing the finger at you, or anyone for that matter.  It is just a general feeling I got.  I can understand the anti-band stance.  But I think, as a general rule, newbies are being talked down to, not presented the facts rationally, as they deserve.  And banded people are being talked down to for having what some view as an inferior surgery.

I am hoping that with the creation of my new Failed Band Forum that newbies will come over and read our experiences. A place was needed where we could easily find and store our information as well as pass it along to any pre ops who are still deciding on which surgery to choose.

A place was also needed for support for those that are/were getting run off their surgery forum because they had the guts to come forward and speak out against their bands.

I am hoping that with the creation of my forum that newbies can find a place where they do not feel that they are being " Talked down to " as well as being presented with the facts in a rational,supportive, and non confrontational way.

No. It's a forum for EXCLUSIVELY for Lap-Band related issues. Good AND bad. And yes it should be a place of support. Look back at my 1 yr. update. See how  much support I got?

But that's beside the point. I AM THE ONLY SUPPORT THAT SOME PPL WITH BAND ISSUES HAVE ON HERE! When you have ppl posting just happy stories.............and when ppl post of their band problems and are told THEY are the problem.............or they see other ppl that have the SAME band issue post on here and see them being told THEY are the problem and NOT the band..................they don't want to post and get the "blame the victim" **** thrown at them. That is why I have so many ppl email me about this. THEY need support! THEY need somewhere to vent!

Now as far as me not giving support on the forum................well support comes in many forms. Support is NOT saying what someone wants to hear! Support is telling these ppl the truth!

That is fair enough, Maria.  We may have different ways of going about things on this board.  Thank you for going about explaining his to me.  I guess witout an explanation rash decesions were made.

Thanks. That is what I have always said as well. That is why when I started my WLS blog that I made sure to keep it "band neutral" to BOTH views would be shown. I even want so far as to have more possitive than negative info on it b/c I was going out of my way to be fair.

After being trashed last month by an OH Lap-Band forum member though B/C I HAD POSSITIVE band posts on my blog................I'm just not evenn going to try to remain neutral on there anymore! I feel like I  just can't win for losing with some of these band members on here! But I am glad we seem to have some understanding now............... ;-)

Sorry I lashed out and called you out by name once or twice.  I was getting hit from many angles on this BROCK thing, and it angered me.  I just want to enjoy this site like everyone else.

Now I am off to JC Penney to order some fat guy summer clothes.  Hopefully I only need them a few months!
