Pain/bloating in waist

Hopefully someone could help me figure this out. I have recently gained about 10-15 lbs. My eating has not been great and I've been working so much I can't get to my doctor to see if I need a fill, etc. My problem is though that I've been having some mild pain on my left side between my port and belly button and that side seems bloated. My waist size has increased 2.5 inches while all my other stats have stayed the same. Are things just moving around or could this be a sign of something wrong?

Thanks!

When I eat junk and start to put on a little weight , I feel bloated all the time... especially if my diet consists of a lot of carbs or soda. Get yourself back on track and your body will relax. I am at that point now. I have been bloated for 2-3 months now and I am tired of it. I am on Day 2 of healthy eating and my balloon gut is deflating. :)

The general area you're describing is where your stomach is located. I can't diagnose you, but I CAN tell you that I had severe gastritis and it caused bloating a quite a lot of pain.

I think it's better safe than sorry in your case... please get checked soon. It could be just "one of those things" or it could be something that you need to address. Any time you have pain, though, is a sign that something's not right.

I wish you the best. Hope it turns out to be nothing.

Thanks Nicci. I will call doctor and make an appt. I agree that it's better safe than be sorry. It all feels very odd but then again my body was used to the weight I was before the regain. So it probably will be the gain that's doing it. But, either way I need to see my dr.

There are so many weird things going on all the time in our guttyworks, I tell ya!

I recently had a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I found out that not only do I have gastritis, but I have diverticulitus, ulcers, hiatal hernia and adhesions. Now, I was prepared for one of those things... but not ALL of 'em, ya know? Geesh. I was like, "Can't we just replace my abdomen with a beer barrel and I'll rent myself out to frat parties? Coupla tappers and I'm good to go!" Doctor said that would be a last resort.

I had so much bloating and abdominal pain that I shouldn't have been surprised at my diagnosis, I suppose. But I totally was anyway!

A lot of people have gastritis. It's not uncommon at all, I guess. I hope you don't have it, though. Maybe it's just a side effect of eating too much lately.

Feel better soon.

Bloating can also be an early sign of ovarian cancer.
