Im so confused with my band!! I got it in August last year and I am now at 6 cc's. I was at 5 cc's and not having much restriction so my Dr took all of the fluid out and put it at 6. When he did this, it worked great...for about 3 weeks and then it stopped. Am I doing something wrong? Why do I now feel like I have hardly any restriction?? TIA.

After 3 weeks the swelling just went down.  You are doing nothing wrong.  You may just need another smaller fill.

Do your best to eat healthy foods and schedule your next fill! Have him add a little at a time... little by little... month by month... until you feel your sweet spot.

He has added little by little and ive had the same effect before, but with the last fill (6 cc's) it def. was the right spot. Maybe he needs to add more and then once the swelling goes down I will be in the right place...I sure hope so anyway, I have been feeling like I shouldnt have gone with the lap band because of this. :(

what kind of restriction are you looking for though ?   The band wont tell you to stop eating .  I can overeat with the band all the time if I chose to  and I have done it . I'm human , I'm overweight and its going to happen and it will happen again and again. I will have to deal with that the rest of my life .

Are you looking for this full I cant eat another bite feeling ?   You should never get that way with the band .

I never get that full feeling anymore, I get the satisfied feeling.   I could eat more then my cup of food at any meal, but you also to need to have some self control and will power to say no that is all I need also.

Usually, if I wait about 20 min after I eat I'm okay . I'm not full but I'm not hungry either if that makes sense lol.

No, im not looking for it to tell me to stop eating but to be full with the right amount of food. I have changed my eating habits quite a bit since I got the band and have not lost that much, thats why I am frustrated. I can over eat if I want to but I avoid this.
I know what you are saying though...it's just I knew this last time he filled my band for that 1st 3 week period that it was the right amount. I was losing weight and not starving all the time and now it's gone...again. I just wanted to see if this was familiar to anyone else....

are you getting enough protein in ?  I know for me and this is just me if I dont get at least 20-30 grams of protein in per meal I'm hungry within hrs , its always been like that since I got banded so I have t make sure I eat lots of protein for meals.

I usually hit around 70-100 grams of protein per day .

Also are you close to your period ?   I'm getting ready to start next week and to be very honest with you the week before my period I can eat like a horse. I'm always hungry , I want to eat all the time , and so forth . Doc told me its the hormones we release during this time that makes it really hard to control our eating at this time.

Like Elena said also you might need another small fill . How long are going till you get hungry again ?   You should be able to go at least three hrs then you can eat again or  have a small snack :o)

I hope you can get this worked out for you really soon  though :o) Good luck

Sounds like the swelling went down, like the others have indicated.  Also, as we lose weight, our stomach literally shrinks too which can cause the band to be looser, requiring another small fill.  My doctor never emptied my band completely to fill it every time, he would just add a bit to what was in there already.  I have heard that often when they do that, the same exact amount can feel different when it is refilled...a very weird phenomenon if you ask me!  I think with a small fill, you'll be golden! :)  And maybe ask him to just add to it rather than completely unfill/refill.  Good luck!

Im hoping the fill will do the trick. The reason he took it all out was because I had 5 cc's and had felt restriction and then it went away, just like it did this time when he put 6...he was checking for a leak I am assuming. Thanks for all of the advice, it makes me feel better :)
