Mushies Ideas Please
For mushies, I have one of the Ninja 3 piece sets, big Blender middle size, and small chopper, puree WHATEVER. This prduct would mushie anything. I'm planning on doing all the types of veg's allowed. Chicken with broth or pinch mayo. Turkey pinch of cranberry(no seeds). Mashed potatos(sour cream non-fat) Sweet potatos(sugar-free maple). I think I can make it taste better then baby food. Just experiment. I'm open to suggestions. Just came across a product on the site called Capella flavor drops. Going to check those out. Katie Keane
Good luck to you! Overall, my surgery went very well although...the GAS after-wards was insane but walking helped a lot. I had severe shoulder pain from the gas (ouch!). I was sent home from the hospital with liquid vicodin but found I didn't need it. I was able to tolerate the pain using liquid Motrin. The toughest part is keeping up with protein intake. Good luck to you and let me know how it goes or if you have anymore questions..
Best,
Amy
Some of my mushies included ricotta cheese with marinara sauce and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. The premade starkist tuna in the foil packet has the mayo already in it and it's only 100 calories and 13 gms of protein. Laughing Cow cheese wedges are great and they come in a number of varieties. They each have 2 grams of protein in them. I have two cheese wedges with the tuna and it equals 5 ounces of food.
I'm 4 weeks out on Tuesday so I just was in the soft stages. I have to admit it's hard transitioning from the comfortable foods. I know I am supposed to be allowed to eat everything now as long as I chew, but I kinda figured that stage out and now I have to move on!
Good luck with the mushy stage.

As a bandster 3 years out I have to say I have the mushies and liquids down for me...
It's all about your tastes though. I could mush anything to make it band friendly though.. The ones that you should and can eat would be
1) Greek 0% Yorgurt with pureed fruits
2) Cottage cheese with or without the pureed fruits
3) Beans of any kind if you cook them yourself you can puree/mash and flash fry them w/cheese, cottage cheese, or greek yogurt if you're super good.
4) I love Miso soup w/egg whites dropped in. I pureed onions, garlic, and mushrooms
5) You can do mash potato but be sure that you add something substantial such as fiber and protein powder. This was more of a treat for me because of the carbs
If you have a slight imagination you can do it. Just make sure you only play with healthy foods when puree/mush them
I added Unjury and benefiber to everything in small doses as I made my food to make sure that my body was wable to absorb everything I was trying to give it
