Hi my name is Emily, I am 26 years old and mommy to Joey who is 4 and Kylie who is almost 2. I have my lap-Band surgery date set for May 23rd, and my pre Op diet will start on the 9th. I am sure after I get banded I will have more to say...and ask. I just wanted to introduce myself.

Hoping to get to know all you guys!

Well I haven't done it yet. I start it on the 9th of May but I will tell you what is written in my packet.

"the preoperative diet should be high in protein, low carbs, and low fat with liquid protein suppliments.

-Replace two meals per day with a high protein and low carb liquid shake. You may add fresh/frozen fruit (except bananas). fat free/suger free jello or puddings.

-You may have ONE healthy meal each day that consist of:
-lean meat (6-8oz chicken, fish, or lean beef)
-one cup of green veg (no potatoes or carrots)
-One cup of fruit (no bananas)

-Eliminate:
   -All fats
   -high suger foods
   -high carbs. "

Did they give you anything like an info packet?

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the welcomes

~Emily

Thank you so much! I was kinda left in the dark about that part. I started this process a year ago and my dr is in another state- so we are kinda wingin it long distance. I drive out Thursday night, have surgery Friday morning then drive home Sunday...back to work Monday....hehehe. I work for an integrative medicine doctor...I haven't told him I am having the surgery cuz he will flip out. He things less calories taken in and more exercise will work better.thanks again for your help!
So how are you feeling so far?
