How long before the gas went away?

Hello all I am newly banded on Monday the 18th, just wondering how all of you did with the excess gas and how long it took to get it out of your system.  I feel my stomach and intestines rumbling constantly and a whole lot of pressure forms under my sternum when I get up.  I can actually feel the gas bubbles under there upon getting up.  All in all with some mild port pain, the gas has been the biggest issue here.  Anyone else have these issues?

 I had my surgery on the 19th.  I still am having some gas pains, but they seem to be somewhat better.  I keep feeling like I am going to burp.  I know this sounds weird, but I didn't know if you had this.  It is like a pain starts at the base of my stomach like I am going to belch.  Then it moves up to my chest and no belch.  It is just a sharp pain in my chest that diminishes.  Are you doing this?  Are you able to get all your liquid in?  

Hi Robin, This Sept will be 4 years for me. Thinking back, it seems the gas went away in about a week or so. I got up and walked around alot that helped.  Good luck with your weight loss.

Hi, I was banded on 4/11.   Today I actually feel less bloated and gassy then I have since the surgery.  So for me- it took about 11 days.

ahh ok great I had asked a couple of people I knew that were banded but they didn't feel what I am feeling.  Its nice to know that there is an end to this gas issue though.  I've had laporoscopic surgery done before, but not this extensive.  Probably the five holes required a little more gas to see what they were doing, therefore more to get rid of in the end.   I didn't think this was going to be easy one bit, but I sure wasn't prepared for all of this gas discomfort!!

 I was banded on the fourth. It took about two weeks- when I started eating a little more solid food for the gas to leave.  I feel almost normal now.
