I'm READY!

I did two weeks of liquids. Under 30 carbs daily and generally under 700 calories.  Protein shakes, broth, popcicles and for minmal carbs and give me my salt craving for those 2 weeks I drank a glass of tomato juice a day.   I blogged on what I "drank" everyday for those two weeks,  carb counts, calorie counts and protein counts.  Feel free to look at my blogs for a "sample" menu.

Although I hated it at the time, It was less of a shock post-surgery getting off food.  I had my many last suppers before those 2 weeks and ate 90% of what I thought I could never eat again.

The first few days are rough - headaches and withdrawl and luckily I started on a Friday so I could get through the first few days with lots of sleep and not thinking about food.

It did also boost the weight loss and I also stayed on liquids 2 weeks post op so I was on pure liquids for one entire month!!

Good luck.

I didn't have a pre-op diet other than clear liquids the day before surgery.

I practiced drinking 64oz of water a day and eating less fried foods and more veggies and tried to cut my calories back a little, but not drastically.

I did medi-fast 20 years ago and would never go there again.  Awful.
