Conversations like these are EXACTLY why I didn't tell my in-laws I had WLS. My mother-in-law mentioned something the other day about me losing weight and I was like "Thanks, I've been making some changes in my life to try and be healthier" and changed the subject. Why is it that MIL's are such a-holes?

I'm so sorry that she was so rude to you. You deserve nothing but praise for your accomplishments! Congratulations on all your hard work!

My father did something similar........I have lost 90 pounds kept it off (with the exception of bouncing 5 up and down) and he keeps asking me every time he sees me if I am going to lose more.......... I tell him that I want to but my body seems to like where it is at, plus I am healthy and feel good.......his reply well you where born a "big girl" and therefore aren't meant to get thinner.

It hurts but I ignore him, I think deep down they are jealous or ignorant not knowing what to say so they say something stupid......he didn'****ch his weight and found out at 50 that he is diabetic....enough said on that count LOL....

Ouch.  That blows!  That was cold and heartless and I'm sorry she said that to you.
