Advice please - miserable!

I am not feeling well this afternoon.  The heartburn started a couple of hours ago after lunch.  Accompanying the heartburn is some growling coming up through the band, I assume.  I can swallow, I can eat with no problems.  Yesterday I slipped a disc and started taking medication for it such as anti-spasmodics, hydromorphone and arthrotec.  Is the medication causing this or have I done something else?  I ate a bit much on Sunday but not really THAT much.  Anyone have any advice?  My surgeon is 3 hours away in Montreal.  Thanks everyone!

Hi, I'm not sure but I suspect Arthrotec would not be good for your band as its an anti-inflamatory which contra indicated. I was on those for a few years but they were removed from the market in the UK some years ago, as they were deemed not to be safe. I'm not trying to frighten you but I wouldn't take them.

Thanks, Jill.  I'll knock off the arthrotec!  Hopefully that was the issue.  Nasty feeling.

Just a suggestion: Before you stop any medication, you should really talk to your surgeon. He's 3 hours away, but a phone call is the next best thing to being there...(sounds like the commercial, right?) lol

You may want to try to drink something warm a few times. It may help.

Whatever you do, I hope you feel better soon!

Dr. gave me Pantaloc to take but I have had no problems,  Did you call the Dr. or E mail him. to see what you can do.  I was also given hydrophone but only had to take 4 right after surgery. I did have 20 ingestions for blood clotts.  Had no problems with that.   I can eat anything but only 1/2 cup. Your best bet is call Martine and talk to her before the weekend.     Doris QC.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

Doris, I think I will call Martine tomorrow and just check on what I can take.  Dr. Atlas never mentioned anything for heartburn and this is the first of it I've had and at 8 weeks post op.  Better to be safe than sorry especially with a long weekend looming.  Glad to know you're doing well.  I'm down 30 so far and delighted with the whole thing, heartburn and all. lol
