 Hi,

I got banded a couple of weeks ago and have been doing pretty good. My only problem is when I swallow it feels like my esophogus is tight.  Food and drinks go down slowly.  Is this normal for everyone? If it is, Is it permanent or will I eventually swallow normally again.?  Thanks so much for any help. :)

Have you been back to the doctor yet?  If so, did you let him/her know this was happening?  You should call and ask this same question to the doc TODAY.

Does your band have a "primer fill"?  If so, you might be one of those people for whom the band alone or the band with very little fluid works well and you might be too tight.  That is why it is important to tell your doctor how swallowing feels right now.

Are you on liquids, mushies or normal food?  If you are on normal food, I would go back to liquids until I had talked to my doctor (just my .02).
