I've missed you all while I've been on vacation to SanAntonio. I wanted to check in to see how everyone was doing but had very spotty and turtle slow internet access. Here's a little recap of my vacation with the band.
Flying:
Flying with the band wasn't a big deal. I didn't feel tighter -- other than what I normally would from stress and not staying well hydrated. Before surgery I was right on the edge of needing a seatbelt extender -- no room left to breathe on my last preband flight. It was wonderful to have room left to spare and the tray table not lying on my belly. At no time --even in the crowded aisles did I feel like a fat cow that was taking up too much room.
If you think you have problems, stop worrying. No matter what your problems, your life has got to be at least 100 times better than the two ladies that sat behind us on the flight out there.
Eating:
Before the trip I secretly wanted to take a break from the band and be able to pig out on food or at least be able to eat faster. But, then in the same thought was very thankful for my band and decided to not wi**** was gone or unfilled for a few days. We ate out almost all of the time except breakfast which was Greek Yogurt. I didn't log a single calorie, fat gram etc. but I could not eat very much because everything was stacked against me: lunch everyday was outside IN THE HELL HOT SUN with no shade. What are these people thinking?! I got major sunburn. Plus at almost all the open air lunches all the food came wrapped in a tortilla. Delicious as those suckers are, they don't agree with my band. Most of the time I ordered a fajita taco and learned to skillfully hold the tortilla so that I could manage to eat most of the insides with very little of the tortilla (no forks available). I also drank 2 huge full sugar lemonades and a big coke -- so delicious in the hot sun and worth all the gazillion calories. We had one terrific dinner at a nice steakhouse while I was there and I ate 4 ounces of steak and 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes, a couple of pinches of bread and some mushrooms.
Shopping:
We went to a really nice outlet mall. I was able to buy several items off the misses racks -- (16 and 18's) so much more selection than the plus section!
Sights:
One of the most interesting events was a group of 4 belly dancers. Those ladies danced for about 1 hour straight -- talk about burning calories! The thinnest lady (could count every rib thin) had the best moves and the most confidence but was the least impressive to watch because she didn't have any belly and was basically a moving stick figure. The other ladies had enough fat to pinch and inch or two and looked stunning.
Official Weigh In: Down 2 lbs. Which is great but the magical Onderland is still teasing me.

Sounds like a great trip! I'm so happy for all the benefits that the band has added to your life. The heat sounds good to me, it's 40 degrees, rainy and windy here.
Can't wait to hear about onederland! It will be onederful!
Hugs,
Kristi
