All the other forums also have ppl posting about their compications, vomiting, tooth loss, etc.  No WLS is without problems.

Why do some of you always have mention that no WLS is w/o problems? When have I ever said that the others don't have problems??? Of course all WLS's have problems, but how many WLS's have ppl that DON'T lose weight??? How many RNY or DS'ers have u ever seen 2 yrs. out and down just 20 lbs.??? There may be problems with the other WLS's.............BUT AT LEAST THEY WORK!

First off, I have visited your blog & find lots of useful and pertinent information there & appreciate that you provide valuable information from every aspect of the journey, but you know that your comment about long term bandsters not posting is not true! Bette, Jean, Kate, Lisa O., myself and many others are long term bandsters with happy successful band experiences. Each of us determine our success in different ways. I am not at a normal BMI, and I don't know when or if I will ever be. But success to me was going off of all blood pressure medications, surviving ovarian cancer, keeping my narcolepsy under control, no longer needing oxygen at night when I slept and no longer shopping in the plus size section! I've successfully lost 132lbs and kept it off. Could I have lost more if I had chosen another WLS? Maybe, maybe not! As someone who went thru menopause at 27 years old, I have had to fight for every single pound I've lost. How did I win the fight? I followed the band rules & exercised using my lapband as the tool that it is! I can't speak for others who have had lapband surgery or other surgeries, I can only speak from my experience. But I can say that complications come with every WLS there is. I listened to many RNY & Sleeve patients tell of their tales of woe at support group last night. Just as God created none of us to be the same, so goes our WLS journeys!

First off thanks for the comments about the blog.

Now as far as long term bandsters not posting, your not a long term bandster. Yes Jean, Bette and Kate are, but there are just a few long term successful bandsters that post on the band forum as opposed to the other WLS forums. The excuse is always given..........."there ARE a lot of long term bandsters! They don't post b/c they are out living their new skinny lives". Well I would tend to beleive that if that was what was happening to other long terms of other WLS's. But when u see many of them posting.........but not long term successful bandsters..........kind of blows that theory out of the water!

~Is SUCCESS the end-all-be-all to WLS?~

To me it is. Why would I have had WLS if I didn't want to succeed at it???

Darlin', you called Maria out by name. How is she beating a dead horse? You asked her a question... she answered.

This is what happens more often than not when you get too worked up about someone who has a differing opinion from yours:

An Intense Brawl Gif - An Intense Brawl

If you're happy with your WLS choice, nothing anyone ever says should really bother you, in my opinion.     Have a good weekend and fuggedaboutit. (that goes for everyone! I'm bossy!)
