I had my appt with the Psychologist on March 18th, had the evaluation done, and as expected, everything was perfect.  I asked that very day if he would have it ready and sent in to my Bariatric clinic by my next appt, which was the 28th and he said yes no problem.  No other visits are required, because all they want in the first place is just an initial eval determining if you can handle what it intales and if you completely understand all the changes, and you have realistic goals, and that you understand you MUST follow your Dr's orders.  So very lucky there, as I have read some threads where some have had to have counseling, then eval, then followup....geez no wonder it takes some 6 or more months. :(

Anyway...went to my appt on the 28th, had all blood work done...(this was 3rd appt) and guess what?  NO EVALUATION HAD BEEN RECEIVED....so from that day, I have been calling the Psyc's office about every other day, no answer ever, just an answering machine with the generic leave a message.  I have since talked to a collegue, and was told that he is very slow about sending in the evals, they are very thorough, but slow. :(  How thorough can it be, and how time consuming can it be when all you do is spend 30 min with them to get a determination that you are realistic, and totally understand what to expect?  ARGH!!!  So all I am waiting on is this eval, then within 3 weeks of the Dr receiving it, I will have surgery date, start liquid protein.  Have already done ekg, pulmonary function, and having edg tomorrow.....Dang!  Anyone else have the issue with Psyc?  Thanks for being here for me to vent. :)

Thorough is great and all, but a month seems a little excessive to me. My only advice would be to try leaving a message to say you want to come in for another appointment.

That should get him to call you back pretty quickly.

Or, is he a part of a practice where you can stop by and speak to a receptionist, at least?

You can't go back and make a brand new start, but you can start from now and make a brand new end.

I agree, a month is just a bit too much.  Don't misunderstand (anyone) what I menat by only needing an eval for realistic outcome, and understanding everything this WLS entales.  I like many have a food addiction, and if the Psyc feels you need further counseling, or afterwords, that is always going to be suggested, or if your expectations are so grossly off, he will deny the surgery.  I have a food addiction like many of us, but as of now, I am not required to do any further counseling.

No..no receptionist..just him. :(  I even stopped by the office on Monday when I went to see regular Dr.  LOL  was going to pop in and be like..."hey, I can send that for ya"  LOL...HE WAS NOT IN!  I have left a gazillion messages....thinking he is irritated and now rewriting my eval.  Telling them I am psycho and cant stay off the phone....haha  I will leave him alone for a few days :) Just wondering if anyone else was "this" close and hung up by something so silly?

Have your Surgeons office call and ask it to be faxed over . They let him know HE is the only thing holding you back from surgery. My psych eval took over 2wks to be sent . I knew that up front though. Maybe your Dr calling would help move things along.

I did just receive a call from the ins coordinator (she also handles all evals) from my Bariatrics office, and she told me to just keep calling.  I did suggest that she call him, and she said that the psyc's tend to get upset with the office for doing that.  Anyway, I left him another message just now letting him know that HE is holding me up.  Would just be kind of him to return phone calls.  Tell me you are behind, tell me you spilled coffee on it, tell me something!  Wait Wait Wait
