CHEST PAINS....HELP!
http://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/showthread.php?t=3495
It's most likely diaphragmatic irritation. It's not necessarily a symptom of a slipped band... it's just a part of being banded for some people. I was one of the extremely unlucky ones who had chronic chest and left shoulder pain nonstop when I had a band. It's a fairly common phenomenon amongst banded people.
I didn't notice when you had your surgery. If you had it very recently, the pain may be related to the CO2 gas used during laparoscopic surgery and most likely will dissipate. If it remains, you will definitely want to alert your surgeon because the band might be placed incorrectly, irritating the diaphragm and the Vagus Nerve System. And the longer you leave it untreated, the worse it gets. I had my band removed 6 years ago and I had extreme left shoulder pain today from the diaphragmatic damage incurred during banding.
Best of luck to you. I hope it goes away soon.

I have to take gas pills twice a day, simithicone* (not sure about spelling) i ran out for a week and let me tell ya... OMG i thought i was having a heart attach. I went to the ER and had cat scan and ekg, all it was was gas. I live by it now. GasX never worked, the pills are my best friend.
I hope all is ok, but never make any decisions by what you hear on here. ALWAYS consult your surgeon for questions and answers

I had something simular awhile back and I had to do a 14 day treatment with an OTC med the generic name for it is omeprazole magnesium .Got it at Walmart . Dr also said give up caffiene ,chocolate, mint and spicey things to reduce acid. It worked though.I felt better after a day or so on the medicine.

I know how scared you must be!! For me I was rushed to the ER years ago thinking I was having a massive heart attack and it was a bad gall bladder attack. Ask the doc to see if that is the problem. I keep having little attacks that I was ignoring hoping to go away and they got worse and worse.
My Dad years later had the same thing. We both had it taken out and no more of that awful pain!
