surgery yesterday
Well I was banded yesterday, I woke in recovery puking a lot despite 4 different anti-emetics they tried. I hope it didn't slip the band and get me off to a bad start. I got 3 hours of broken sleep (woke up 12 times in that 3 hours) in the hospital last night. Back home today, got a nap in. On acetaminophen for the pain.
There is gas coming out my chest, shoulder and back pain as well as my mouth and down below. The nurse said to just let it all out! Then there is the abdominal pain, like I did 1000 situps. My neck is sore from the funny placement during surgery and my throat is raw from the breathing tube.
I have 4 x 1/2 in*****isions on my abdomen and a 2 inch one for the port.
I am so hungry! I thought I was supposed to have a swollen stomach and not get hunger. But the liquids just slide down. The surgeon told me my stoma should be about 1+1/4 inches diameter.

OMG I am so sorry you've had such an awful experience. Be careful with the acetaminophen if it has codeine because it will cause an entire new set of problems in the nether regions, if you know what i mean. ;)
The gas was certainly an issue but the vomitting is not good. I did have some abdominal pain and I do have the same holes and incisions, although they all have faded nicely since my surgery mid-February.
Hungry? That shouldn't be. Just be careful what you ingest in your first few days and weeks because you are quite delicate internally right now.
Keep in touch with your surgeon's office if your issues persist and try to avoid the barfing!!
Good luck!
