Too tight?

I went for another fill on Monday, the 11th.  I am only on the 4th day but man!  I hope it can still loosen some or reduce the inflamation.  According to my doctor's plan yesterday I could go to mussies.  I tried scrambled egg with ketchup and no good.  3 or 4 bites and I felt stuck.  I am feeling stuck alot.  Hurts!  I have also had hiccups and lots of saliva...  I can do my protein shakes okay and I have to watch my water.  No more guzzling!
Can anyone tell me if I can still expect to not be this tight in a few days?  I went from 5cc in a 10cc band to 6cc.  I think I could actually have them back out .2 or .3 ccs and be great!  But, my doctor is 4 1/2 hours away!  YUCK!
Don't get me wrong!  I have not had much restriction and I am thrilled to really know what a band feels like!  LOL  Oh, yeah!  I have a band!  But, if it doesn't go down I think I'll have to make another road trip...

This morning I had one scrambled egg with a small amount of cheese.  I added extra olive oil in the pan and made it not so dry.  I was able to eat it all but I am very full AND have slight pain in my left shoulder and left upper back.  But, I was able to eat it!

I also had an issue and had to have a slight unfill.  But it hurt to eat "real" food for almost 3 weeks.(They were on vacation)  Difference is, I could eat mushies.  Then I thought they hadn't taken out enough, because even though I was following docs orders as when to advance through to solids, I had to back up a bit to full liquids for a day.  I'm gonna try mushies today and tomorrow go to real food before I call.  Aparently it took a bit longer for my swelling to go down.  Someone on OH sugested that for me, and IF you can get from liquids to mushies at least before the weekend, that's my suggestion to you.  Though we all have about the same surgery, our insides are a bit differentand have to be handled individually.  GOOD LUCK!

I'd give it another few days personally as it tends to loosen a little I think. I had a fill too yesterday, I now have 8.75 in a 10ml band & mine is pretty tight too, but its giving me much better control of what I eat & thats the point really.
If it still hurts after a week though, i'd go back!
Hope you feel better soon!

eggs can be tough for some people . Try refried beans w/ cheese that is good in the mushie stage. I too would give it a few more days and take it easy and see what happens. If it is still like that after the weekend I would call .

I agree, lots of people have issues with eggs so don't let that be your deciding factor.  I would wait and see what you can eat tomorrow and if you are still having issues in the morning, call the doctor because you may be too full. And yes, a small unfill of .2 can make a big difference. But I can tell you that a lot of people I know have issues between 5 cc's and 6 cc's and find somewhere around 5.5 is ideal.

Don't go too long being tight! If you are having issues, please call your surgeon.

Scrambled eggs are one of the hardest things for me to eat even on a good day.  There's something about the texture and consistency that rarely works for me.  The pain in your shoulder is likely happening becaue the food is getting stuck or is piled up in your esophagus waiting to go through the stoma.

If this keeps up, you may need a slight unfill.  My Surgeon suggests 3 days of liquids after a fill.  I never make 3 days, but you need to really stick to soft foods for sure.

Don't live with your band too tight.  It's not worth it!

Take care!

I agree with the others above try other items on your approved list before getting an unfill......it  still may be early also.

Wow!  You guys are awesome... I really appreciate being able to reach out on this forum.  It surely beats all the other forums.  I am on day 6 and I think I'm a little better.  Last night gave me a fit but today i have been better.  Today I had a protein shake at 7m, then 1/2 cup cottage cheese at 11am.  Then I was able to eat a protein bar about 2 hrs later.  I did this for scheduling reasons... Son's soccer game.  Around 5pm I had 1 cup of clam chowder.  So far today so good.  I am going to heat a WW meal for dinner and just focus on the turkey and gravy.  Not cooking today.  I think I should be good.
My doctor doesn't stress calories, just protein.  Oh, and I got a tip from my nurse I wanted to share with you guys.  She said to try this trick.  For two nights in a row take 25 mg of benedryl, one adult capsule, in the evening.  This usually will help with the inflammation!  Go figure!

I am open to food critiquing.... :-)  I just thought if I can only eat 1/2 cup or so of real food then I should eat 4 or 5 times... small meals?  I am trying to get my protein in.
