... wish I had THAT problem.. haha :-P

I've taken a dog I'm calling Muffin into my home. She needed a foster home urgently... she was out on the streets for a while and is really thin. My duty is to fatten her up... and heck... that's what I do best!! Haha... I made a career of gaining weight for over 10 years. I should have a solid weight-gaining resume.

Muffin is some kind of Maltese and perhaps terrier mix... now freshly shaved:

Awwww what a cutie!  How kind of you to take her in!  So sad to see them suffering like that!
Be careful that you don't feed her too much to fast as it may put her body into shock and make her even more ill.  Rice is a good bland option, you can cook it with some chicken broth or mix a little bit of soft dog food, just give her small amounts throughout the day rather than 2 big meals.!

Good luck!  Wish she were closer!

The band may not be perfect, but it will be perfect for me!

Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate it. She weighs 11.5lbs now... I will give her food little by little.

From watching all those animal cop shows on Animal Planet, they usually treat emaciation by feeding several small meals a day. So, you are definitely doing the right thing by feeding her several times a day with small amounts. She is so cute!  Post a pic once she's a little fatter so we can see how she's doing!

If she hasn't been, she needs to be checked for parasites and worms. Xena, the girl we are fostering, turned out to have giardia. She's been eating like a horse, but pooping most of it out (tho she IS putting on weight) so now, maybe, her food will have more effect on her.

I've used a combination of scrambled eggs and rice along with dog food before.  You could also boil some chicken thighs and shred the meat and add that to each of her small meals.

She's adorable!  Thank you for taking in that sweet baby!!

Awwwwww what a sweetie. Poor little thing. Luckily he has a second chance thanks to you. The first step is a vet visit if he hasn't had one already. They can tell you exactly what needs done.

What a sweetheart she is and what a sweetheart you are for giving her a good home. She does need a little meat on her bones but I bet she'll be your very best friend forever! Dogs are such precious little beings. I have a ****er spaniel that has me wrapped right around her little paw!Nothing is too good fo my baby! Thank you for taking her in.
