OT: Raise your hand for Planned Parenthood

On February 18, 2011, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to bar Planned Parenthood from all federal funding for any purpose. The Senate will consider this legislation next, and it's up to us — the one in five American women (and a whole lot of men!) who has been helped by Planned Parenthood in their lifetime — to stop it. Let's show just how many women are ready to fight for this organization and the people it serves. Raise your hand!

Years ago when I was 15 I found myself at a planned parenthood clinic because I thought I was pregnant.  Free of charge I was given a pregnancy test...which came out positive, they counseled me on my choices...because obviously this wasn't a planned pregnancy.  I was told since I was having unprotected sex I should have a full panel STD test done...which I did.  They were there during one of the hardest times in life.  I also decided to keep my baby and she is now 23 years old and applying to grad school.  So planned parenthood isn't all about abortions.  They were a place I could go get help and that's exactly what I got HELP.

CMA, I got pregnant w/ my first at 15 as well..Had her when I was 16.  Some of the hardest times of my life, but she helped make me who I am today.  These guys gave me birth control pills, yes I got pregnant on the pill, not just once, but twice.  my second child was born though when I was 24 and my third when I was 25. None the less, if they help that one teen that cant go to their parent about being pregnant, I'm okay w/ that.  I'm not saying that abortion, but I'm just saying that they can help in many different ways....

During the past 15-ish years I have relied on Planned Parenthood. Mainly for the fact I was going to school and working part time (No insurance) They made sure I was healthy in my annual exams, had proper birth control and even did blood work to let me know I was pre-diabetic. They then helped me to know what things I should try to avoid in my diet. And when the time came when I was pregnant, I also turned to Planned Parenthood for advise. They were able to refer me a public health nurse to make sure I had a health pregnancy. I have always been a fan of Planned Parenthood!! I absolutely raise my hand for them!!

Those evil *******s actually made sure you were healthy and gave you diet advice...well we don't need any of that in America!!!

Don't you know by now women are second class citizens and don't deserve to make any decisions and poor people don't deserve healthcare!!!  God do I have to explain everything to everyone!!!

Hahahaha...just kidding of course.  I am being terrible!!!!  Oh well I don't care.

Had my first female exam at Planned Parenthood. I got alot of great info and was treated so well there . It is a wonderful place for women to go to get info and healthcare they may not be able to otherwise afford to get.
Count me in **hand raised** !

You can't go back and make a brand new start, but you can start from now and make a brand new end.

Sorry, I can't raise my hand for this.  I simply don't think Federal dollars should be paying for this and MANY other things.  WE ARE BROKE.  This organization makes a profit on abortions (Federal dollars doesn't pay for that part of PP), so they can use their profits to carry on with the business........it's time that many "businesses" stand on their own and quit relying on us taxpayers for money.

I was just wondering and I don't want you to think I am picking a fight or being disrespectful to your beliefs (because that is why we are in America where everyone is allowed to have their opinions).  Is it just the abortions you are against?  If planned parenthood dropped all abortions and didn't perform them anymore would you be against them or would you be against them regardless.  Because they do so much for the poor, young and underprivileged.  They helped me when I needed help.  They help with mammograms and pap smears and general health.  I don't see that to be a horrible thing.

I was just wondering if the abortions alone is the reason people are against it or is it another reason too.
