Peanut butter

Has anyone ever spoken to their doctor about peanut butter? I just had my band fixed after a slip so I'm in the puree/soft food stage again. In the past I'd have a spoonful of peanut butter (low fat) here and there if  I needed some protein...because I don't eat enough usually. Anyway, I was wondering what you all thought about peanut butter during this stage?

A spoonful is good in a protein shake...or eat it plain, as long as it doesn't bother you, should be fine!

Peanut butter is fine.  I could eat it at the beginning, but after my thrid fill I couldn't stomach it. If it doesn't bother your tummy, enjoy!

Hi Toni, peanut butter has protein but it also has a lot of fat. There are better choices for protein. Peanut butter has a whopping 180 calories for 2 Tablespoons. Mona

Thanks, but I'm not concerned with that right now. First of all I have low fat low sugar and second since I'm barely putting anything into my body all day, a little fat won't hurt!

Almond Butter is one of my main staples.  I have mine as a snack.  I either eat a half a sandwich with whole wheat bread, almond butter and sugar free smuckers jam plus a half a cut up banana.  Or I have about 5 whole wheat crackers with a little almond butter on each one with some sugar free jam and a slice of banana.

Hmm, I've never heard of almond butter. I'll have to check it out.  Is it less fat or sugar than peanut butter?

I was going to say eat real PB if your going to eat it.. I read on Eat this not that
they suggest real PB vs low fat PB .. and since then I eat the real deal but I hear almond butter is great too it's just expensive so I havent bought it..

PB is a good fat from nuts it's not like your pounding a jar sometimes I eat this for breakfast with an apple..

How are you feeling?

That sounds like something I should try.  How much peanut flour in a container of yogurt?
