NSV...I had no clue!!!
I had to post this. I had been waiting to buy new clothes because I really didn't want to spend too much money. I'm only 49lbs away from my goal. I had some dresses taken up to fit me. I really don't like to wear dresses all the time. I decided to buy some bermuda shorts for the summer. I'm tired of not treating myself!
The Avenue is having a sale on shorts so I went in, not knowing what size I'm in right now. Before I started the Lapband journey, I was wearing a 26 in pants. I got the Bermuda shorts figuring I'm around a 22 now. I also took a 20 for good measure. The 22 was too big!!! Damn!! OK, I guess I'm a 20. The 20 fit (big in the waist), but I just wanted to push the envelope to see if I could squeeze in a 18. I went out and got an 18, and I be done gone, they fit! They are a little tight, but I'll take it! I bought the 18s because I still have weight to lose. Plus, I want to show off my new figure! I haven't worn shorts in over 13 years!
I've also noticed that I'm smaller at 249 now than when I was 249 14 years ago. I think building muscle is a really good thing. I play football now and I'm more athletic now. I have to say, I'm starting to really look good! That's a change as well because before I thought I was the most awful looking thing around! I was ashamed to show off my body. Now, I'm looking for things to show off my body and look sexy. I'm liking the new me!!!!!

all the weight has been lost post-op..I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
highest weight: 333 pounds (I know I gained after my last "weigh in" in the doctors office so probably it's more like 340 pounds)
current weight: 151 pounds (7/12/11)
I've been at goal (165 pounds) for 6 months now and now on maintence. I tend to go up and down depending on time of the month and such!
Major NSV!!! How great you must feel...and you hit the nail on the head about building muscle. It really makes a difference in how you look and how nicely your clothes fit at the same weight if you weren't exercising 7 building muscle. I guess "they" were right about that all of those years that I didn't listen! lol
Congrats on your continued success. :)

Well congrats! I wish I could wear shorts, but I'm pear shaped and have and always have had loose saggy, baggy looking skin on my legs. Thank Goodness for Capri's.
I have very muscular legs under the saggy skin. hahaha
Congrats on your 18's!
