Just keep a pile of napkins hand and discreetly spit it into them.

I have a question - I see often where people speak of pb'ing and in this post, there were a few who mentioned it...this is really strange (maybe?!?)  but it concerns me that I don't have that problem with food "stuck" because i haven't chewed well enough - I am at 5 cc in a 10 cc band and most of the time because it's not a problem and I forget, I DON'T chew chew chew or take small small bites (I am trying to work on not wolfing everything down) and the food seems to pass through without a problem.  Will this change (perhaps) when I go in for another fill?  I had a snack wrap grilled from McD's for lunch (I had an appt so picked it up and came back to the office) and I first of all didn't realize those darn things have like 260 calories in them - so not worth it - and 2) I didn't eat it slowly or carefully (then I read this post) and thought hmmm.  I can tell it's sitting inside of me (like in the area below the breastbone) it's a heavy feeling, but other than that, no pb'ing, slming or anything?  Just curious as to why and if eventually the restriction will be enough that I HAVE to slow down and chew chew chew (I know, I need to do that now, even without restriction...I didn't work at it at lunch but will keep it in my mind and thoughts when I do have dinner tonight)...Also, whereabouts inside does the band actually sit as when I am full I usually feel it in the lower stomach area and am not sure how you know if it's the band or what...does that make any sense?

I was like you in the beginning - I kept hearing about sliming and wondered what it was and thought I was just lucky because it didn't happen!    Probably after my third fill or so is when I experienced my first one.  It now usually only happens if I eat dry chicken.  You will know it when/if it happens to you because it is, well, slimy!  :)

Thanks for sharing your experience.  Was just curious about "why" it doesn't happen to all - not that I don't want it to happen, but I know i really need to change the way I eat right now - haven't worked hard enough on that...and wondered if it would ever happen where the restriction MAKES me follow that rule to chew chew chew, of course, i do hope to get it in my head before then!  Next fill is on the 21st...so we shall see!  Thanks again!

I went through my pile before I had to run to the restroom when it just didn't seem it would pass.  I was mostly afraid I would end up having to vomit.  Luckily that didn't happen but where I sit at work is out in the open and I just didn't want to risk it.  I need an office.

My first really bad sliming episode, I was on a tour bus in Washington DC.  I had NOWHERE to go!!  I had a half full water bottle that I kept trying to spit in to, but everyone around was noticing. I was sooooooooooooo embarassed!!!   That was such a horrible experience.

We stopped at FDR's monument and I was able to find a place behind a tree to FINALLY get rid of the piece of chicken that was stuck. RELIEF!

Oh, no!!!!!!  I can imagine!  So far I've either been at home or it passes or I am able to make it to a restroom somewhere.

I am a high school teacher and after a fill I have some sliming.  YUCK.  I have explained my surgery to my students as it happened right before school started for the year so they have watched the weight come off me.  So when I have a problem they know, and understand.  I just use a tissue... or several and wait for the food to go down.

I have just started having sliming problems with my last two fills. Boy, it makes my eyes water and if it is severe enough my legs get shaky. I have never been able to get anything up...just slime and a whole lot of pain. I have learned (the hard way) chew, chew and chew some more.
