I may be late to the discussion, but this is in re: Brock. I actually know Brock offline. He and I are in very much the same boat. I can assure you, he left for no reason other than embarrassment. Sheer embarrassment, as he put it. He was embarrassed being a post op who had great success only to regain. A few days ago he said that this was a cool place, and he "met" LOTS of great people. But he just couldn't stand logging in anymore know that he, as he put it, failed his band. But he is good. His family is good, he is happy, heathy, training for an upcoming 5k. I just wanted to update those of you who knew him. I read some past posts about him, there was a lot of confusion.
Please tell Brock he is missed and not to feel bad about regaining it happens to lots of folks, the main thing is he's still working at it. Myself I only lost 20 lbs with the band, while I haven't regained I haven't lost any more either. I plan to stay if for no other reason to encourage those who are like myself and have problems. It would be nice if he came back but the choice is his, just let him know lots of us have the same problem.

I'll pass it on. We're actually meeting up later this week for a run before dinner with the wives. I sure didn't mean to cause such a stir. Guess he was quite the controversial figure. He just told me about the site. I'll have to give him some crap about this all.

I appreciated all the hard work he did for the exercise challenge. This board is for support and it can be for someone pre-op, newly post op, someone struggling or a vet. For me, it's about people helping other people. We all have something in common, and that's fighting obesity.
Tell Brock I miss him and would be the last person to judge-lots of us are struggling and renewing our commitment daily.
Shame is a big motivator for many of us, and we have had way more than our share, but he should never be ashamed to come here and start again. If anyone on this board actually believes that regaining could never happen to them, then they haven't been listening to the voices of experience.
