We were'nt together when I had the rny. I've tried to explain to him and even asked him to come to my preop visit today. Well, Im sure you guessed it... he was a no show. My feelings are hurt but if thats how he chooses to act the so be it. He is becoming more and more distant the closer my date gets. Ive decided that Im going through with my decision to have the surgery. I guess maybe Ill be signing up for eharmony eventually

Good for you.

Hey I am in Kingwood... so if you need anything or a fellow Texan to talk to I am a short hop skip & jump away.

I am sorry to be so blunt... but him not showing up when you asked him to is bs and it makes him sound like a mega jerk.

My husband wasn't happy when I told him I wanted this surgery, even after spelling out to him the valid reasons why.    I think he could tell from the start, though, that I was going to do it whether he "approved" or not.  Now?  He's one of my biggest supporters.  If you lose you boyfriend over this, you are better off without him, IMO.  You gotta take care of you! ,,and be around for those kids of yours :)

Honey never jeopardize your health for anyone. There is a difference between concern and control. Sorry to say it sounds more like he wants control of what you do. You must do what is right and healthy for you so leave him home (only positive vibes for surgery)and stay strong for your own self respect. If he leaves you because of it or belittles you for it, then it's time to tell him bye bye.

As with everyone else you have to do what is right for YOU. My fiance (bf at the time) did not agree with the surgery, but he has supported me 100%, and once he has seen what it has done for me inside and out it has changed his view.
