As far as expectations, you should probably expect to have a revision years down the road. The band does enough damage on its own, not sure how the plication will be either helped or make it worse.
My band was stitched in via pars flaccida technique and it still slipped.

You are looking at a whole lot of complications between the band and plication. Most surgeons won't even do plication, it's just too risky long term with poor results, even worse than the band to be honest.
