i can so relate. For me it feels as though I have never had surgery... I am hungry all the time. I can eat constantly, i try not to, but im so hungry. ive gained at least 5 lbs since my surgery on the 1st of march. and Im feeling like a loser, like ive failed, especially in the eyes of the few who know i have done this. especially my boyfriend. I read these posts adn they remind me to be patient, and that after the 6 weeks of healing, and the fill process I should see results... its just so hard.
Its the hardest that im HUNGRY all the time and inconvieniently so... so im making bad choices. i feel like because im not losing, its almost like I am sabbotaging my efforts with these bad choices...

i get my fill on wed this week, but was told it may only be 1/2 cc... in my 10cc band... which seems so little to me. and I have to drive 2 hours to do it... i hate the frustration of it all.

Steph, that sounds great, but I can't have veggies yet.  I will keep it for when I can have it.  I'm trying very hard to just chill out and take it one day at a time, but is so very hard when I'm so damn hungry...I can eat a 1/2 cup tuna and yogurt and I'm hungry in an hour, but I manage to just wait till the "next" time I have to eat.

Eclect....I am with you...I do feel like a failure.  I have to remind myself I am a little less then 3 weeks out.  We can do this, we just have to get past this hurdle....I haven't had my fill yet, but from what I hear it doesn't take to much sometimes to get a "good" feeling from your band.....I go on 4/18 and get 4 cc's in my 11 cc band.  my first fill and I can't wait.  I want to know what it feel like not to be hungry.....

I know you are really frustrated because I have been also.  I worry that I am not doing stuff right etc...  However my doctor did have me go ahead and advance to real food.  I have not had problems with being hungry.  The problem that you are probably having is the protein foods.  Are you still drinking liquids, soups, etc?  If you are that is the problem because it is emptying out of your tummy more quickly.  I go to the doctor on Tuesday for my first fill.  They have had me increase how many calories I take in to be around 1100 to 1300 a day.  I walk 2 miles at least 4 times a week plus I work on a very busy open heart floor.  Over the past 2 weeks I really haven't lost weight but I have dropped a size in my pants.  So I guess that is progress.  Also the dietitian told me to add carnation instant breakfast in between my meals to make sure I am getting enough dietary intake and high protein.  Maybe that would help you.  Also are you having food hunger or thirst hunger?  They are both important and can feel just alike.  BTW  what has he told you you could eat?
