Friend has a slipped band - advice?
Hi All,
A good friend of mine recently found out she has a slipped band. She's doing the liquid diet now in the hopes that it will move back into place on its own, but if it doesn't and she does require surgery, she's considering revising to the VSG.
Can any of you offer any advice or share your experience with revising from the band to the VSG? I'll post this on the Revision forum as well, but thought I'd start here since I know a lot of former bandsters *****vised still stop by here.
Thanks!

Hello there,
Here is a little comfort to offer. I myself experienced a slip after the birth of my baby. My surgeon and OBGYN thought it would be fine if I kept the fluid in my band during my pregnancy under the conditions that the baby was growing okay and I was gaining approbiately. Sounds great right?
Well wrong, my last trimester when my little guy got bigger it got harder for me to eat but not anything drastic, I mean I could still eat so I didn't think anything of it/ Also I started getting heartburn but I thought it was pregnancy related. The stress of delivery made my pouch inflamed and my band to slip.
3 months after my son was born I went to see my surgeon for routine yearly check in and we looked at my band under flouro and I was terrified to hear the news that this had happended to my band and that we had to take the fluid out.
I had my son in July 2010. I went to the Doctor in October and had to have the fluid removed.
The worst part for me was going through the holidays not knowing if my band was okay and I constantly worried about having to have it removed and what was I going to do...
Long story short... 3 months I had to wait to find out that my band had popped back into position and to be able to start getting fills again slowly though.
Damage control I gained 25lbs and are now working feverishly to get back down to prebaby weight.
BTW my band is a 10cc LapBand AP System and I only had 3.75cc inside
Take Care,
Broom

I had a slipped band that was cured by a complete unfill. No need for more surgery.
