Turned down at the band grads group

Dang, I know I don't hang around much as I am busy at work most of the time, but I asked to become part of the band grads forum and was turned down for "not meeting criteria".

Ummm....my band was placed over two years ago and I have been an active member here at OH before that.

I made my profile "open to the public" instead of friends only and am giving it another try.

I kind of feel like I did back in school and not in a good way.

I know. The reply was rather dismissive. I am confused.

Maybe you have to be at goal...or maybe you have to be maintaining for awhile.  I don't know.  I was thinking about going to the Grads board myself because I'm 2 years post op and now I want to know all of the criteria before I try, because I'm not at goal yet.  I have about 50 lbs to go.

No, you don't have to be at goal.  I've been a member since one year post op, and Lord knows I am far from goal and still fall into the obese category.

I would try again, now that you have your profile open so that the moderator can see that you are a real person and then you can close it back to friends only.  once you get there, I hope you can appreciate having to meet a criteria...it not about being mean, but making sure the grads have a place that they can talk about things, without having to worry about folks (trolls) making account to go there and start problems.  I am sure that is all.  I look forward to seeing you over there.

Hi, you might ask what you need to join. I don't think you have to be at goal to join. Maybe you need to post more often. Good luck. Mona

May have been a mistake. You have to be one year post-op and have an active, non-drama laden posting history. You don't have to be at, or even near goal.  It might be because they could not access your profile to see old posts.

It is a private group specifically set up at vets' requests because so many vets left because of past upsets so the moderators take their tasks very seriously!

Try again!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

PS I am copying this thread to the mods to see if that helps you.
