SINCE DR. OZ HAD LAP BAND ON TV

At work I allow the radio on all day and all the commercials today all seem to be about the lap band and quite a bit phoney!!!    The band to me is just a tool and I have to do the work!!    Well whatever band is being advertised every 20 minutes.......their band is super special......Just get the band, off comes the weight and it is kept off at least 5 years!!!

Yada, yada, yada. Oh well, hopefully it will soon pass. Or change the station. I watched the show and thought the gal who was only 6 months out from surgery, well she was I'm sure still on a very restricted diet so her input was I thought misleading. Also the other gal, in the yellow top, well she looked like she still needed to lose another 100 lbs. It was interesting, but not a good show if you are researching WLS. IMHO

That show was very misleading.........there is no way that woman was eating only tablespoons of soft food a day.............i was expecting the show to be more realistic....................

I agree not a good representation of most lapbanders :( That is sad b/c so many ppl think so much of Dr Oz and take everything he says and does as gospel.
Funny my mom and I were talking a little bit ago and she said that she thought that since the show aired there were clinics popping up everywhere advertising fly by night ,easy bands! LOL Wonder if that is just by chance of if Dr Oz is getting a pay out from some of them ? LOL Oh well ....hopefully anyone wanting a band will RESEARCH it (unlike Dr Oz who seemingly did not do so well)  and choose good Dr's at least . Fingers crossed!!!! :)

On the way to my surgeon's office in Harbor City, California it seems every billboard is for the LAP BAND  or 1800-GET THIN and it drives me up the freaking wall.
