Toning Saggy Skin...
Just wondering... has anyone found any successful exercises that help in firming saggy skin while losing weight? (im sure you cant get rid of it all) but... I hear that even though most (if not all) are happy with their weight loss... saggy skin sometimes hides the new physique... Any comments/suggestions?
I was told by a plastic surgeon that the amount of saggy skin depends more on your heredity, your age, how obese you were and how long you were obese. He said although weight lifting can firm up and tone the muscles under the saggy skin (which will help a little) but it doesn't firm up saggy, droopy skin. I still exercise and weight lift on the off chance that one day I will be able to afford plastic surgery and when I have all this flabby skin cut of I will have one really toned well developed body.
According to several plastic surgeons I've heard speak on this subject, once your skin is stretched out and saggy, only surgery will restore it to its "original" condition. Of course, they may be saying that because they make money by removing excess skin. But I have been exercising 5-7 days a week (cardio, strength, and flexibility training) for 3 years now and the excess skin is still there, sadly sagging. The good thing is that the muscles underneath are a lot more toned...but I'm glad no one but me, my husband, and my GYN can see my panni. And my batwings are still waving and singing, "Long live the flab."

no miracle cure for saggy skin besides surgery....
If you are working out make sure to start off with cardio and once you got that down you need to incorporate weights .. that combo will change the shape of your body and you will shed inches..
I take body pump so it takes the guess work out of weight lifting .. I just follow the class...
And my girdle is still my friend :)
