Thoughts Please..Excessive Coughing

I can think of two things that might cause the coughing...

1) very mild reflux/GERD can irritae the esophagus and cause you to cough.  If it doesn't subside *maybe*  you need a *smidge* taken out of the band?

2)you didn't happen to start a new BP med did you?  Lisinopril can cause coughing...and I had to wet my pants a number of times before I finally broke down and mentioned the coughing to my PC doc...changed me to another drug and...poof...coughing (and subsequent pants pee peeing...stopped

Tarris...I think it could be the first one...a little better...spoke with nurse today and we are going to give it a week and see what happens.

Thanks for replying.

It could be.....

1. Some coughs can hang around for weeks even after you are no longer feeling well ( 6-8 weeks )
2. You band may have slipped
3. Inflammation from sinuses

Be very careful with "coughing" sometimes people confuse this with "sinus issues" this can be a sign of being too tight, one of the early dangers of band slippage is excessive coughing, regurgitation at night while laying down, chest pain where the pouch is located, and  "stuff" coming back up phlem through your mouth and nose when laying flat, if it continues getting a teeny unfill will help it and save the band too.

Well I think I've figured it out.

I am probably a smidgen to tight.  The past two days I have paid close attention to my coughing.

I notice during the night and in the morning I do not cough.  But as soon as I eat, the coughing starts.

I'm not looking forward to a two hour drive but it's better than a slip band.

I can't help but wonder if I lose a little more weight,(finally on a roll again) if it would correct itself.

Thoughts on that?
