My suggestion will be to read about each type of wLS..make yourself a pro and con on each.  If one have a deal breaker that you cant live with, then toss that one and continue research until you find the one for you.  it may be the band, it not for everyone but it perfect for some.

Funny as it may sound...quick weight loss was a dead breaker for me.  I know I could not wrap my mind around seeing myself losing weight quick, with the band, I was able to see it gradually and folks just thought that I was sticking to a great diet. But for some, slow weight loss drives them crazy.

Thanks for sharing your story. My expectations of the band were pretty much like yours and I think that has worked well for me. Sue

Thanks Sue, if I could only give one set of advice to someone researching, it would be...to know your expectations.  If one have the expectation of losing 30 pounds in 30 days, the band not the surgery for them.  If they want to wake up from surgery skinny, well it not going to happen.

Every WLS is not for everyone...heck WLS is not for everyone.

Sarah, I thought the same that why not share some of the good to balance out the bad, mind you I am not saying there is not bad, but maybe offer a balance.
