I am scheduled to have a lapband placed at the base of my pouch - I am eight yrs out - lost 110 pounds, but still have BMI of 41.1.

I am interested in the experiences of those who have had this done - PROS? CONS?

I just want to be as prepared as possible.

THANKS ALL!!!

Is your stoma dilated?

I can tell you that revisions to add restriction have very little success with "failed" RNY. If your stoma is not dilated then restriction is not the problem. The problem is lack of malabsorbtion now that you're post honeymoon. Generally revision to the duodenal switch( DS) is the best option because the malabsorbtion is permanent.

If you post about this on the revisions forum you will get the same feedback. There was a lady on there recently who had BOB and recently was revised to the DS. Just FYI, I'm having bypass to DS revision next week on monday.

Hi - I reached out to you on your previous post about this...never heard from you? If you'd like to chat about my experience, feel free to PM me.  If not, that's fine too, but I just wanted to put it out there again.

No worries!  Talk to you soon. My blog entries also may help you understand the process, pros/cons, etc.  I blogged a lot right before and after my revision surgery. :)
