Vegetarian and the band.
I have been a vegetarian for 20 yrs, banded 6.5 years. I have NEVER had difficulty getting my protein in and I have never had to rely on protein shakes for it either. (Unless I was immediate post op and that was MD orders)
You can have meat substitutes, beans, eggs, tofu, cheese, yogurt, etc. When I have good restriction cooked eggs are a challenge and I avoid them but hard boiled are easily tolerated for me. Everyone will be different to some degree on what works for them.
Good luck. If you have any other questions let me know!

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense. - Buddha
I'm not vegetarian but i often eat that way - just like it!! Lots of available protein although some vegetarian foods tend to be sliders! Nuts, tofu, quorn, pulses etc. All excellent, but often cooked in away which means they could slide down too easily. So you may have to take a bit of extra care.
But basically, not a problem!
