band slippage
I got a slight unfill 2 weeks ago and I gained 9 lbs but I couldn't get anything to stay down but yesterday I went a got a slight fill and now it seems like it too tight and my doctor said I have a slight band slippage so I don't know what to do. Because he said it shoudl be a problem but I'm scared. Has anyone had a slight band slippage and if so what did you do to resolve this problem? Is there anything I can try to make it go back up a llittle or should I be running back to my doctor again?
I don't understand why your doc would give you a fill again if you have a slip. The most common course of action for a possible slip is to completely unflll the band for several weeks to allow the stomach to slip back into place.
Getting an unfill does NOT have to mean weight gain. Use it as an opportunity to really chug back water that you might have had to sip with full restriction. Eat dense protein, and raw veggies that you might have had trouble with. I'm completely unfilled, and chose to go low-carb, and thoroughly love eating lots of poultry, seafood, meat, and delicious salads with yummy dressings. I've lost about 8 lbs. since being unfilled, even though I have minimal restriction. Tonight I had a sinfully delicious cobb salad, with lettuce, rotisserie chicken, bacon, avocado, boiled egg, blue cheese, and green onion. The band still put a quantity limit on my dinner, but ooooh, it was soooo good.
