Elliptical = TORTURE DEVICE

Was at the gym yesterday, feeling good about my workout I'm about to start.  I was just about to jump on the treadmill and thought I would try the elliptical instead.  OMG - I did all I could to stay on for a big 10 minutes.  When I got off, my legs were like Jello!!!  So, now it's the next day and my legs are sooooooo sore.

So here's my question.  I am almost 6wks post-op.  Can I take some Advil or is it too soon.  My Dr originally told me not to take it because it's a blood thinner, but is that forever or just after surgery?

Any feedback would be great.  My muscles thank you in advance.

I was allowed to have Advil at 6 weeks post op.

Also, as far as the elliptical goes, the first time I tried it, I lasted about 4 minutes.
Then, I added 1 more song on my ipod every wee****il I was up to between 45 and 60 minutes -- it took a few weeks -- but it is a great workout --- much easier on my ankle than the treadmill.

 I was told never to take advil only tylnol.
Elliptical is my favoritr touture machine especially the one with the arms.
Strat slow and before you know it you are up to 30 min and so on.
I feel i get a better workout on it than the treadmill.
Good luck

I was told no Advil, Aleve, Ibuprofen etc.....TYLENOL ONLY......forever. I have noticed a lot of people saying they take Ibuprofen so maybe it's another one of those things that differ with each Dr.

I was told none of those types of meds ever also. Call your Dr.'s office and ask. As far as the eliptical, I had to do it in physical therapy. I dreaded it and I hated it. I do believe it is a torture device. lol

Your post is so timely...

MY trainer put me on the elliptical yesterday and said we'd do 3 minutes and then back to the weights. I only made it 2 minutes. He had it on the arm blaster every 15 seconds which wasn't the hard part for me....the LEGS!! So I told my friend who's also heavy about it and she was shocked because she thinks the elliptical is easy and never goes on it at the gym because she  considers it "the ***** machine". Sigh. I'm glad to hear it gets easier cuz I swear it practically killed me.
