Is this normal?

Fish was not on my soft list. To me that 's dense protein. I would hold off on fish for a bit longer. I have to have some low cal sauce to help fish and chicken down.
A lot of times you hear, liquids in, liquids out.
You might have some new swelling with your stomach digesting the fish? Causing decreased hunger? I'm just guessing, no clue really.
You are in the healing phase now and no need to stress out about a few pounds up, it will come off.
Soft is refried beans, yogurt, sm curd cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, any food int he "stage 1 or 2" baby food dept., applesauce, pudding.
I think this time, listen to us not ur doc, actually just kidding - but call him tell him your reaction and ask if maybe you should be eating something softer. Maybe he meant tuna fish salad in the food processor - that gets nice and soft????

I did research him and his practice. They are a Center of Excellence, but I'm thinking I'm going to follow all of your advice because I know that if 10 people, who have had the lap band are telling me 6 weeks, I'll need to wait 6 weeks. And he told me salmon, but I'm hoping to get my appetite back at the end of today, and go back to purees. I was okay when I was on that. I still have some pain, but no where near like it was. As far as the gym, I'm just walking from here on out until I feel better.
Thank you so much for the advice!
Salmon was actually the cause of my only ever nasty stuck episode in 5 years!
Your doc is the doc! We may not even be real people!! But it is always sensible to err on the side of being over-careful!

As far as when solids are ok, every doctor is different. Mine had me on liquids one week, soft foods for a week and at the beginning of week 3 (two weeks post-op) I was allowed to add one solid food per day to my diet. I measured everything. When my nose started to dribble a bit, I knew I was done. For the first 6 weeks I ate 6 times per day (about 800 calories), was not allowed liquid meals after two weeks.
Keep the water intake up, you have lost a lot of fluids, so need more than 64 oz.
Hope you feel better soon!
Your body is healing from surgery (the lap band and hernia) and needs some downtime in order to completely heal.
Best of Luck, Kim
Every doctor is different.
I agree with a previous poster, you probably got some food poisoning or a virus. I don't think it was just because you were allowed solid food earlier than some doctors allow.
Hope you feel better soon.
