Vitamins
I actually looked at the nutrients in the multi-vitamin and reviewed it with my doc. The one I went with was a standard multi-vitamin from Costco (I liked what it had) and now I crush them on a daily basis and include them in my morning yoguart - no whole pills for me!
I have had a small marble mortar and pestal that works WONDERFUL for crushing vitamins..

My doc just has me take Flinstones chewables (yes I know these are for kids...check the label...not much difference in kids multivits and adults unless you are wanting to have a baby or have malabsorption issues). He recommends a B 12supplement for all patients, so I get a sublingual tablet. I also take Viactiv chews...and these are Calcium Carbonate, not Calcium Citrate. My doc said these are okay for banders, not bypass pts. Citrate is better absorbed but only if you take it and when I looked for Citrate in chewables all I could find were these big chewables that I had to take 4 at a time. The Viactiv caramel tastes like a treat so I think I'm getting dessert when I'm really taking my vitamin. My vitamin D3 runs low, so I tfound a liquid for this.
Remember you can't take your multivitamin and your calcium at the same time, the multivitamins interfere with absorption of the calcium.
