Does everyone really chew chew chew?
Cat love your avatar & ticker...i am a cat person too just lost one due to illness and have three very spoiled 'children' in my possessuon! Cant imagine life w/out my 4-legged's & my 2-legged man-child, my hubby)...so much pleasure they bring to life & a wonderful unconditional love! Thx for sharing on how you chew chew chew...
It will catch up with you eventually if you don't. Chew, chew, chew, or you will be sick, sick, sick. You may not be getting stuck now, but it's good practice for later when you have more restriction. It also forces you to slow down which will help you control portion size. Whatever you do, you need to protect yourself from over eating. You can't risk stretching your pouch!
If you are losing weight and don't feel hungry between meals you don't need a fill, but slow down and chew. Eventually, you'll need to learn how.
Best~

very true LIsa I think now days alot more people are keeping their bands at a looser side of things. I know in my support group maybe half of them do keep their bands on the loose side and never get stuck because of that
I know me personally, I will never have my band to the point of restriction where I cant get up and eat a breakfast , or not be able to eat chicken , or a pork chop. I dont think that is what the band is made for but I guess I look at it all in a different way . lol

I believe I have 8 or 9cc in a 10cc band. I chew more than I used to but not into paste and I would rather chew my food more than cut my food into itty, bitty, tiny bites. I get stuck maybe once a month or so but only when I have me period and completely forget (how you can forget every month that your band gets tight once a month for 3 years is beyond me).
I don't really technically feel hungry at all anymore. I have head hunger at times but I don't really get physical hunger (or thirst) cues and haven't since surgery. So I may have good restriction, not really sure.

Lap-banded 3-5-2008, planning for revision to RNY
J.A.C.+M poly w/ child
edited as what I said was a sound bite but not really what happens for me!
I chew, chew, chew as once or twice I have not done so and been sorry. I don't take small bites, just take care with the swallowing. Over the long time I have had my band, i have learned when to be extra vigilant and when not - i.e. I need to chew the life out of bananas!
But my band has never stopped me eating virtually all foods.

Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
I chew religiously. The moment I forget to chew and get excited to eat a big chunk of food, I get stuck. I am almost three years out now and it's become a habit. It's not something I think about anymore.
