The itching is driving nuts...

It sounds crazy, but Boudreaux's Butt Paste forms a protective layer and helps with irritation. It doesn't smell all that pleasant, at least to me it doesn't, but it does seem to work.

I have this problem, too, at times.  The Lotriman cream works great.  I've tried storebrands that say they're the same as Lotriman, but I've found they don't work as well.  I would recommend spending the extra $ on the real stuff.

Also, to prevent this from happening, I have used deoderant under my apron.  Keeps it dry.  Seems to work.

OK...I have to ask you guys about a problem I am having.  Well since losing so much weight my formally big blubbery stomach is turing into flabby, droppy skin.  Well the problem is between the skin folds.  The skin is starting to get irritated.  It's been happening for awhile now but it's getting worse.  Last night I nearly scratched myself till I bled.  When I realized what I was doing I stopped.  I am taking extra precations to make sure the folds are clean and dry...and I'm using cortizone for the itching.  Is there anything I could be doing???  I can bring this up to the doctor on my next appointment but that's at the end of April, but I don't want to go in special just for this.  I know this is a frequent problem for us.  When you had this problem what did you do or the doctor do to help the situation?

It is a good idea to see the doctor, because documenting issues like this can help you get your panni and other extra skin removed and insurance to pay for it as a medical necessity.  Gold bond powder helps me and I also keep mupirocin ointment on hand for any infections that occur.

Under my stomache the sking breaks open.  The doctor perscribed a nystatin cream.  It's worked great!  I never have any itching and I make sure it's clean and dryed there.

My mom used to have this problem all the time and besides the nystantin cream her nurse said it helps to cut some pieces of just plain cotton to put in the folds to help absorb the sweat, much more comfy than paper towels. I've used the monistat cream on yeast infections on my toes, in fact used it on my dogs ears for yeast infection and cleared it up better than all the junk the vet gave me. Never came back after I used it on her.

As everyone stated, get this rash documented because it will help with your plastic surgery plans. When I went to my consultation for my breast reduction they took pictures of the rash under my breasts and in the stomach fold area also. No plans as of yet for the tummy tuck, but down the line I want the same surgeon to do it so he documented it. The pictures of the rash under my breasts helped get my breast reduction approved.

As for what they told me to use, Lotrimin & before exercise or after a shower, Gold Bond medicated powder to create the barrier or moisture between your skin folds.

Good luck and I hope something works for you. I understand how irritating it can be!
