Wow - I wouldn't suggest it.  How long are you supposed to be on liquids?  I was on liquids for 2 weeks after, then on mushie foods for two weeks.  I just started the soft foods phase, and that's also for 2 weeks.  But I know every surgeon has a different "schedule".  I think your tummy needs to heal in stages and that's the reason they give us these phases.

By the way, I love egg salad, but haven't been able to tolerate it now.  It makes me very bloated and uncomfortable

Did you try cream soups for something more filling?  Or sugar free jello?  I ate alot of sugar free popsicles to help me through the liquid phase.

Good luck!

I feel your pain.  I had surgery 3/23 and I'm starving.  I asked my doctor if I could add some scrabled eggs or cheese or something, my stomach growls so loud you can hear it across the room.  She wants me to stick to 3-4 protein shakes w/ 2 snacks a day.  SF pudding/SF jello, lite yogurt and SF popsicles.  I can tell you, I'm so sick of cream soups I can gag everytime I see or think of them....I'm starving!!!!!!!!!!!  I see the doctor 4/5 for my first post op...I didn't think i would be this hungry this soon after surgery.  I was told that after surgery, I wouldn't be hungry at all...well guess what, I'm starving!

Just adding my two cents.. I was realize banded March 8...and have a littlle stapled booklet that the Nutrionist gave me.. which is helping a ton.... (I don't mind emailing it to you, it might help??)
I also was told liquids for 2.5 weeks then mushy/soft food for almost 3 weeks, then finally I will get solids..  I am following the diet to a T.. I am lucky if I have any odd ball questions about nutrition, I am able to email my nutritionist and she emails me back within a few hours..

I did the cream soups and diet jello as well.. and the popsicles helped me as well.. cheating wasn't an option.. I didn't want something to slip, or for something to get stuck.. I was told vomiting is the worse thing early on with the Band.

Hang in there, it DOES get easier,  I am due for my first fill April 26th, I can't wait!!

Best of luck,

I had surgery on 3/16 and had my 1 week post op yesterday.  My doctor put me from liquids to mushies yesterday.  It really is interesting how each doctor is different.  Right now I am to do anything of a pudding consistency so that is my goal.  It is not always easy but it is about the healing and we have to give our bodies time for that.  This is the most important part of the whole gig because it can determine a strong well placed healed band versus problems.

When do you have a follow-up appt. with your doctor?  I would not move on to soft foods without consulting them first.

Sorry....I should have clarified pudding consistency mushies.

Typing this as she has a 1/3 cup serving of mashed potatoes for lunch at the office.

My advice is to always follow your doctors advice. I try to do what I am told and that usually keeps me and my band out of trouble. Remember on full liquids you can have puddings, broths, and to help you feel more "full" get some descent tasting protein shakes. Good Luck!
