PLEASE HELP! Good LB Dr. in Portland area???
I have GOT to find a fill doctor in Portland. I haven't done a lot of online research because I've been overwhelmed and stressed with WAY too much going on in my life... which of course only adds to the emotional eating. I honestly think my recent diet has been as bad as any I've had in my life. The way I'm eating now was something I thought was gone forever!!! I'm hoping there are some people out there who can give me some feedback on Lap Band doctors in the Portland area... and hopefully they'll take my insurance.
I fractured my back just about a year ago, and since then I've gained almost 40 pounds of the 100 I lost!!! I keep looking at that number on the scale thinking, "ok, if I can just maintain this until I can get in for a fill it will be okay." It's NOT okay. I'm not even maintaining, let alone LOOSING the rest of the 60 or so pounds I needed to loose! I TRY not to think aobut the fact that it's now 100 pounds I have to loose to get to my ultimate goal weight, but it's really starting to get the best of me. At this point, I can eat whatever I want and however much will stuff in there; it's obvious my band has leaked or something is awry. I can't believe this is how I used to eat. I'm once again searching for that constant comforting FULL feeling. Ugh... and WHAT I'm eating to FILL myself up is not good! I have no pain, and it didn't happen suddenly, I just havn't had to go to a doctor in so long because it was working. I think it's just been a gradual leaking out. From what I understand, that's normal and a fill isn't totally permanent, that the fill solution DOES slowly leak out over time. Anyone know anything about this?
I've moved across the country since my last fill and just can't face the daunting task of finding a good doctor. I DON'T want a doctor that herds people in like cattle. My last fill was done by one like that and it never quite felt right. My original doctor always just did the fill without all the crazy equiptment and it was great... I'm not opposed to the high tech type but I certainly don't need it. I need a doctor that will listen to me and doesn't feel like I'm in some kind of weird high pressure mass sales situation. Does that make sense??? I'm thinking OHSU may be the only option because of my insurance. I have Tricare, which is military insurance, and there's not a lot of coverage in general here in Portland. I have not had great experiences with OHSU (in fact, I've had really some bad experiences) but if someone out there has a specific doctor they like up there I'm all ears!
Wow, that felt pretty good just writing it out. :-) Thank you thank you for any help you can offer with finding a Portland doctor!!!
