I know I have read on here that we need to let the surgeon know that we have had the lap band but I can't remember why. Could someone refresh my memory?:) Thank you!!!

I think one of the most important things is if you receive general anesthesia, they will be inserting a tube down your throat into your tummy. If you are adjuted tightly, they could have difficulty and possibly hurt something in there. Just my two cents . . . good luck!

Hope your day is great!

I had a partial Hysterectomy in October and asked my Surgeon about being intubated.  He said the tube will not go down that far, but I guess it depends on what surgery you're having.  I was nervous about nausea so I had a slight unfill. It was unnecessary and I wouldn't do it again because it took me a while to get my good, pre-op restriction back.  Next time I'll just ask for anti-nausea meds.

I think you should remind your surgeon doing the surgery that you have a band.  Also, let your Bariatric surgeon know that you are having another surgery.  If it's anywhere near your stomach, they should know just in case.

Just my ten cents worth.

I'll pray for a successful outcome.  When is your surgery date?
