Plain stupidity and a little ashamed of telling you

I didn't mean to imply you were stupid...just misread your post and missed the part about it being an ingredient.  Sorry ...

Rice pudding contains rice that is pretty well cooked and saturated as it can get, vs risotto which is typically done al dente (a bit undercooked) so it will continue to swell and absorb liquid in your digestive tract, where the pudding most likely will not.

Hope you feel better today...remember to "baby" your tummy for a couple of days.

Hey Evelyn,  I'm 5 weeks post op and was told NO RICE!!!  I only had wine last week for the first time.  (No reaction to the wine though)  I got stuck on a small piece of banana bread and it scared the wits out of me!  I think in the soft food stage I lived on poached eggs and yoghurt and mashed potatoes, which could be why I never went to the bathroom!  Take care

It's always helpful to hear about what does or doesn't work for others.  It may not be a problem for everyone, but it's definitely worth being extra cautious.  Glad you are ok and were able to learn from it.
