Sweet/Chocolate Fix - What Helps You Keep Your Sanity?
Hey Jacyln - we have the same surgeon!! Crazy small world! Have you been to see him lately? Have you met the new dietician?! I'm sorry, but she is a MORON! There is plate they use for reference on how much to eat and she doesn't follow it. I also ask her other DIET related questions and she just beats around the bush and doesn't give any straight to the point answers. Useless!!
I was rebanded back in January. I was banded for the first time in 12/07. I ate all the junk food I wanted - lots of sweets and Cheetos. It's amazing I even lost 100 lbs in 13 months. When I got rebanded, I decided I was going to change my behaviour around food. I've transitioned myself to want healthier alternatives or something with a health benefit. the dark chocolate covered Acai berries are PERFECT for me, though high in calories. I know exactly what you mean about just eating what we are craving. I don't eat cereal because of the high sugar and carbs, but I bought some really healthy Flaxseed granola type of cereal with pumpkin seeds that has no artificial anything. It's so healthy and filling. Sometimes I have that with milk as a "sweet" treat. It's healthy and satisfying at the same time. There are good alternatives out there that are truly satisfying, you just have to really look for them. Of course, I get all my alternatives from Costco, so it's easy for me. They carry a lot of wholesome foods.

I also like Kashi granola bars. Love the dark chocolate mocha almond. 7 grams of protein. For Valentine's Day my boys bought me a small pack of mini Hershey Bars. I saved a few for myself and gave them the rest. I did what someone else said. I pit it in my mouth and let it dissolve.
