Lapse in judgement that turned into an NSV!

I've been SO good about having my little tub of Greek yogurt every morning.  It's delicious, it fills me up and I'm good.  I haven't felt like I'm missing out on anything, all was well.  So this morning I go to the fridge to get my breakfast and lunch together like I do every morning and could have kicked myself.  I had forgotten that yesterday morning I had grabbed my last yogurt and made a little mental note to myself to run by the grocery store that afternoon.

Oops.

So I had to run a quick errand before work and it was right next door to a Subway and I was like, ugh, I'm hungry, who cares, I'll have a tomato, egg and cheese English muffin.  It's not good but it could be WAY worse, right?

I went in and grabbed my breakfast, kicking myself the whole time, remembering how I used to scarf TWO of those things down and not think twice about it pre-band.

Well, let's just say, I'm STUFFED and I just threw 3/4 of that thing in the trash.  Do I feel guilty... maybe, yeah, a little.  But I just did the calories on DailyPlate and you know what?  It wasn't that big of a deal.  I'm super full, egg whites were a nice change from my yogurt and I can't believe the difference in what I used to eat compared to what I just ate.

I think this is the first time that I've seen a clear difference because while I completely changed portion sizes after surgery, I ALSO completely changed the way I ate so until this morning, I haven't had a real clear comparison.

I was afraid that this was going to be the start of a VERY bad, guilt-inducing day but instead, I feel fantastic and encouraged!  Just had to share!!

You threw 3/4 away!!!!!! Good for you. We ordered chinese at work yesterday. I got the diet special. Steamed veggies and shrimp, and white rice. It was great. I took 2/3 home, created a healthy sauce, added a little chicken, and had a great dinner too.

GOOD FOR YOU!!   Even 2 years post-op, It still amazes me the amount of food I used to eat pre-band, compared to what I can eat now.

I say ENJOY that breakfast sandwich.  You shouldnt feel guilty whatsoever..

I know some people on here disagree with what I'm about to say... but you cant police yourself like that all the time....  you have a "live a little" and when you eat, enjoy the food...    I used to eat so damn much, that I'd scarf it down without even really tasting it.    I take the time now, and chew chew chew, and taste the food.

Good for you for "seeing" the difference.    And trust me...   I change up my breakfast often...   mine ranges from oatmeal, to a cup of chili, or a turkey/cheese sandwich on 1/2 a bagel thin or slice of toast, etc.

Take Care!

Good for you!!  Variety is good for you...otherwise you could get bored and start looking for things, if you know what I mean, lol.

Three of my friends and I subscribe to a community theater and attend plays about 5 times per year.  We always go to dinner at a local favorite bistro.  I got an email from the bistro saying their March Special was a NY steak, baked potato and veggies for $10...normally I order an appetizer and salad which comes to about $25 + glass of wine before.  I ordered the steak, put 2/3 of it in a take out box, ate 1/3 of my baked potato...the veggie was crisp steamed broccoli, so that went to my friends...I normally would have eaten everything on my plate and had an appetizer and salad...WOW.  Now I have steak to have with an egg for breakfast and I have lunch (maybe in a caesar salad).  My total bill last night was $15 with a glass of wine (happy hour price).
