For the love of God, researchers!!!!
I second all of the above! I try and not read any negative comments about anything in life, not just from bandsters! I did my due diligence on this BEFORE the surgery and attended seminars, information nights, counselling of various kinds and researched this extensively on my own. Everyone should do the same so that their decisions are based on as much information as possible. I'm only 5 weeks post op but I am EXTREMELY happy with the way things are going. I do expect bumps in the road and will deal with them as they happen. Good luck to all of us!!

When I win the $304 million Mega Millions jackpot or the $102 million Powerball jackpot, we can go out and research some new statistics. If this is what people base their decisions on, it is sad. As you said, we have more bandsters here. I'm surprised that Allergen hasn't started their own research by sending out flyers or contacting surgeons for data on their patients. It is just sad!

I saw a piece on TV yesterday on a long term study of a small group( I wanna say 12 yrs) and a large number of them had had to have another operation for whatever reason due to band issues and it gets to me that they do not break this info up into lapband models and ....technique used to place it.That has made SO much difference as we can see in Kate's post. Naysayers NEVER respond to that fact though....Hmmmmm. In the article I saw over the time frame alot has changed for the better. I wonder why they do not track down those with the band placed long term and do not have any mentionable troubles and see how they are. Frustrating !

I saw a blurb in the news this morning about half of the band patients failing. They also stated they all had surgery in the early 90's. Slow news day I guess. If the news media wants to be fair oh, why am I even going into it, we all know how biased and phony it is.
