Sudden Intense Restriction

Do I need to worry (in the absence of any other symptoms) about sudden tightness and nearly all foods that arent liquid getting stuck? been like this for about 3 days. I have no other issues or symptoms, no pain or anything. I just can't get much of anything down that is not liquid or very creamy at the least. I suppose maybe I swelled up from whatever the starting stuck/vomit item was and now i have irritated it.

I have been cruising along for the last 5 months with no adjustments happy with my weight loss (albeit slower than i want it) ... Then all of a sudden I am stuck on everything. I guess I could just go liquids for a week... but I just got myself in to a nice ketosis level... Heavy on the Ketone Strip.... I don't want to screw that up :)

are you getting ready to start your period ? Are you under a bunch of stess ? those two things can make you tighten up .

If its none of them things then I would call the doc.   You dont want to mess around with a to tight of a band .

If it was me I would call because like I said its nothing to screw around with :o)

Even if you irriated it 3 days that is a long time .

They might put you on full liquids for 24-72 hrs and if that dont help then you will need to get some taken out .

If Nazran was getting ready to start HIS period, he'd have a much bigger problem than a tight band!  Funny!  I know you couldn't possibly know he's a man but your response, while completely valid, cracked me up!

If it continues, then you need to get it checked out but it may be, as you say, irritation from a first stuck episode. However much you don't want to, after a stuck epsiode which is bad enough to irritate the tissue, you should  go on liquids or soft foods for a day to allow things to settle down.

Common causes of temporary tightness are stress (of any sort, anxiety, anticipation, excitement, anger, fear), dehydration, allergies, illness.

My advice (but i am not a doc!) would be 24 hours liquids and then if you are still tight see your doc a.s.a.p.. Never ignore tightness this extreme.

Did you go on fluids for 24 hours after the initial stuck episode?  It causes swelling and then if you ate regular food and got stuck again it only irritates it more and more.  Do fluids for 24-48 hours and then softs and see how it goes.

I will stick to the fluids the next several days and see how it goes.

Sounds to me that you have irritated your band and are experiencing swelling.  I would take OTC Pepsid or generic Omeprozole if you are having any reflux and stick to warm liquids that are not spicy.  If you don't get better in a few days, go to the surgeon.  You many need a slight unfill to heal.  Avoid coffee, tomato based products, chocolate and spicy foods, (all which will cause further irritation).

I'm happy to hear that you seem so happy!  Take care and don't go too long if you can't eat solids!  It's not worth it in the long run.  Trust me on this!

yep...liquids for a few days and then re-evaluate.

Glad to hear the last five months have been going well. This is great news! Is it time for a progress picture?
